Tiny chips left corners may indeed be
manufacturing flaws, very tiny chip top right
corner, couple lost glaze flakes upper left border,
glazing flaw in the border above the green leaf,
other minor manufacturing flaws. • Style:
Floral The manufacturer of this is unknown yet it
was a popular tile certainly made in the tens of
thousands, likely hundreds. Other designs by the
company are known by the disticntive style of
pattern numbers and other consistent
similarities, I reproduced one in the 1980s
which I much prefer to this but is considerably
rarer, strange how things go sometimes. Somewhat akin to the popular arum lily tile
by The Decorative Art Tile Co. it is the leaves
that dominate the design rather than the flower.
In times when manufacturing was less precise
that now this would be a better than average
tile of its type by and maker and is an
excellent example of the design. Verso quite clean, printed pattern
number.
