One group was a set of ten, not good tiles insofar as just two colours and overfired creating some bleaching and burning of the colours, glaze bubbles and the like nevertheless I selected the best two for had to have one for my collection and it was great to be able to offer one for sale. I have seen a group of a little over a dozen with fabulous colours, brilliant blue ground but fixed to an entranceway in a conservation area, that was over ten years ago. These were discovered during the refurbishment of Russell's brewery in Gravesend, just a few were successfully removed, I am glad that they were. Amongst the reasons they are rarely found is as the pattern goes right to the edges it is not a suitable design for being framed as in fireplaces and most furniture also that the high relief of the pattern would not sit well against the frame An excellent if somewhat ordinary green on a strong pale buff body the glaze being very translucent in the like of top glazes from Sherwin & Cotton. A £500 tile in the best condition and great colours but one-colour can show nuances of the design that get lost in multicolour. Whilst the crazing appears a stained it is not the case the effect created by the buff clay and highly translucent glaze, the tiles are indeed just about perfectly clean. So a fabulous design and in great condition, a great tile in many collections and a great example of art nouveau design. Versos perfectly clean, unmarked save for single symbol. • Condition: Perfect • Price: £160 (approx $226) • Stock number: 07200B UK Special Delivery +£11 Europe Priority +£16 US and World Priority +£26 Currency Converter Ask a question • Condition: Near perfect • Price: £140 (approx $198) • Stock number: 07200C UK Special Delivery +£11 Europe Priority +£16 US and World Priority +£26 Currency Converter Ask a question Just a minute chip top left corner. • Condition: Excellent • Price: £120 (approx $170) • Stock number: 07200D UK Special Delivery +£11 Europe Priority +£16 US and World Priority +£26 Currency Converter Ask a question Very small chip bottom left corner, spot right a manufacturing flaw, depression filled with glaze. • Condition: Very good • Price: £75 (approx $100) • Stock number: 07200E UK First Class +£5 Europe Airmail +£11 US and World Airmail +£21 Currency Converter Ask a question Very small chip bottom edge, very small and tiny surface chips, a few minute glaze bruises   Information Tiles For Sale Contacts Order Information
