One minute rim chip lower right, the other marks
nearby are glazed over manufacturing flaws,
exceedngly minor surface marks. Style:
Floral A rarely found design from this famous
company indeed it is occasionally found as a
transfer print, a copy from an unknown maker. As
full a design as one could imagine, touching all
four edges, and so rarely found for most of the
tiles we now find are from furniture and
fireplaces where the frame overlaps and detracts
from such a full pattern. In rather sultry earth
tones but having most fabulous brilliance in the
glazes and so giving a warmth and depth with the
high and sharp relief. Verso perfectly clean, embossed pattern as
per face to give a consistent thickness of clay,
some vapourised glaze from the tile beneath as
if it was a little too hot in the kiln
