A dozen or so rim chips from tiny to minute, not
obtrusive and well hidden for those who frame their
tiles, couple minor surface marks. Style: Art nouveau Whilst lacking the bold flowerheads and
whiplash lines that are the focus of the appeal
of the style this is an excellent rose bush
design the roses in the Mackintosh style,
tubelined so few were made (this the first group
I can recall seeing) and superb rare colours.
The background colour most rarely found, pale
blue/mauve/grey depending on the lighting,
technically difficult and limited in its use in
interior design for which most tiles were
originally made, great and sought after by
collectors. With a good deep burgundy for the
roses and the green glaze for the foliage an
excellent example of Sherwin & Cotton's
brilliant glaze technology. .Verso near perfectly clean, slight stain,
embossed sherwin's patent etc, written patten
number.
