Very tiny chip mid right, a few other extremely
minor marks to the rim, near perfect surface. Style: Jacobean/renaissance A bold conventionalised foliate design,
difficult to put a style to it but with certain
references to jacobean style designs. Bold, rich
and flowing in the manner of victoriana, printed
in a rich, vibrant green, green prints were most
popular in the edwardian era. With one of the rarely found variants of
Boote's patent locks which was not very
successful weakening the edge of the tile and
producing a slight bulge in the edge at the
lock. Interesting to see an innovative
technology that failed in mass production. Boote
one of the companies whose tiles rarely have
lock backs and when found are the familiar rings
or cam undercuts. Versos near perfectly clean, embossed Patent
and England, two locks. Two very tiny chips bottom edge, a few other
extremely minor marks to the rim, glazed over flaws
top corners, near perfect surface.
