Perfect Style: Art nouveau An excellent and quite different art nouveau
design, an arrangement of arcs forming a frame
for the design resembling an effervescent fleur
de lis. A rare design, I can't recall seeing it
previously. A rather germanic feel to the design
but a distinctive english feel to the execution
with curvaceous bas relief the germans almost
always using 'cloisonné' outlines to
retain the glazes. Two tasteful greens so no
overt spoiling where they meet and blend, of
course outlines very useful for separating very
different colours. The design introduced in 1907
according to the pattern number and probably
made that year or soon afterwards given its
rarity and the decline in decorative tiles in
the next few years. Versos slightly grubby embossed England and
painted pattern number. Perfect Perfect
