One very tiny chip bottom edge (the lighter mark
right is a printing flaw) otherwise surface is
perfect, high glaze brilliance, no crazing. Style: Aesthetic A good period design of the flowers in vase
genre in an offset square and with 'arts &
crafts movement style' flowing foliate fills to
the corners. Well printed in dark brown on a
durable buff body. In the catalogue a blue and
white version is shown with pattern number 1808
and therefore from around 1882. Blue and white
has a major following but I prefer these
sepia-like tones of brown on buff, more mellow
and with more of an 'antique feel'. I do mostly
prefer bolder, brasher colours on art nouveau
tiles but that is a different thing
altogether. Verso very clean, embossed Mintons etc.
