Marks bottom edge are glazed over flaws, minute
spot near bottom right is a manufacturing flaw. The
high points at the intersections of the tube line
are worn, filed in manufacturen, no glaze surface
marks. Style: Art nouveau A nice dainty stylised design in many ways
typical of later edwardian times when plain
tiling came to the fore and modern designs were
small on the tile or on small tiles in a field
of plain tiles. Lovely colours, celadon glazed
background, somewhat unusual, celadon usually
being a clay colour, two of Marsden's fabulous
blues, royal blue and a kind of greeny-turquoise
and yellow petals. The high points of the
tubeline, the joins and intersections are all
consistently worn which would be impossible,
given how good the surface condition is, to have
happened over time therefore must be original to
manufacturing. Versos near perfectly clean embossed England,
painted pattern number. A couple of minute rim chips and exceedingly
light surface marks. The high points at the
intersections of the tube line are worn, filed in
manufacturen. Chip top left corner is a glazed over flaw,
extremely slight surface marks. The high points at
the intersections of the tube line are worn, filed
in manufacture.
