An excellent study of a stag in the scottish mountains in the manner of The Monarch of the Glen by Sir Edwin Landseer. Cartlidge's modelling as ever is superb as is the glazing, I do like this green, whilst less 'photographic' than some of the grey and brown glazes Sherwin's used it is a fabulous colour.

From the Tony Johnson Collection, great-grandson of George Cartlidge and author of The Morris Ware, Tiles & Art of George Cartlidge.

Verso very clean, slightly stained, embossed trademark, pattern number etc.
