An excellent group of rarely found enamelled
majoica tiles. Designed by A W N Pugin around
1845 - 1850 and made in the fabulous and
expensive enamelled majolica technique around
1880. Durable and brilliantly coloured and
glazed these were some of the best decorative
tiles ever made.
The group lends itself to framing other
tiles, framing a fireplace opening or as
arranged above would make a matching pair of
panels for cast iron fireplaces.

Condition is overall very good, around half

other half having some slight damage to the rim

near perfect, the pair to the right having the
damage. One tile, the bottom right, has one edge
slightly and neatly trimmed.
All former adhesive has been removed, versos
perfectly clean, embossed Minton Hollins
