Glazed in a very thinly applied silk finish glaze creating a most refined effect and with further gilding and painting. On a rare Marsden's Patent blank with lace pattern impressed similar to Doulton & Slater's later patent found on plastic clay pottery sometimes marketed as 'Chine' Doulton & Slater's Patent likely a copy of Marsden's insofar as Marsden's was for dust-pressed clay only and Marsden's Patent was over three years earlier. Further enamel and gilt decoration by Doulton, substantially manufactured by Marsden and finished in Doulton's Lambeth Studio.
