A pleasing wild rose design in an excellent soft mid blue set against a 'parquet' hatched background and within borders and floral motifs in the corners.

W Wood & Co produced a range of floral aesthetic style tiles in the 1880s named after writers. Jonathan Swift (1667 - 1745) was an Irish cleric, Dean of St. Patrick's, Dublin, satirist, essayist and poet.

Verso very clean with printed Swift and registration number.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
