A pretty Victorian aesthetic bird tile with a pair of
birds chasing butterflies amongst blossoming branches
framed within an aesthetic border. Very competently made
as usual for Minton Hollins from the excellent quality
engraving to the strong ivory body, excellent printing
and excellent glazing. Artist's mongram JB at the base of
the circle, most unusual to see a Minton, Hollins tile
with artist's mark, probably John Windsor Bradburn. I
think it's great, I've had one in my collection for years
and I mainly collect art nouveau - I like butterflies
too.
Verso marked as usual, has a little mortar residue but
within the grid, indistinct design registration mark.
