A somewhat funky aesthetic design, a variation of the japonesque mons style but the barbotine stencil process didn't allow for fine detail so bobbles of white slip have been used. The result is a somewhat abstract, intriguing, almost celtic, floral design. More colours than immediately apparent, in slips the circles are pale blue with a dark blue rim and white bobbles, the stems are in brown and the leaves in buff. All covered in a highly translucent olive coloured majolica glaze which transforms the colours in to the more coordinated spectrum that are seen. This is a white clay body, less often used for barbotine stencil than the sage clay.

Verso very clean with painted pattern numbers and decorators marks.
